A very deserving collapse

I am terribly pleased to see that this man’s campaign has collapsed. Should by some quirk of fate he rise again and takes the nomination I will happily vote for Obama against him in the general election.

so as an ‘obvious pander’ should those to whom the pander is not directed ignore it,? Are you arguing that this is an unfactual statement about how Perry feels, spoken only to win votes in Iowa and not meatn for anyone else? (Which begs the question why give it a wide release on teh campaign web site where it is a certainty that the national media will pick it up and run with it?)
This thread is not to discuss Obama it is to discuss Perry.

    “… which has defended”? Huh?

The Perry video is an obvious pander to the Iowa caucus Republicans, who I have heard are strongly religious. The last I heard it seems to have had some positive effect for Perry in Iowa.

I find your attempt at mindreading fascinating. Plus you are wrong. I don’t think you will vote for Obama because you are partisan. Nor do I believe myself to be partisan.

I am curious about your politics though. Can you tell me what libertarian argument favors the re-election of President Obama? If any?

Because you believe that I am like you; a partisan. You ‘feeling’ is of course quite erroneous as there is at least one Republican in the race I would happily vote for over Obama, and another that I am seriously looking at in depth. (Gary Johnson former Governor of New Mexico for the first and John Hunstman for the latter.)
So aside from your ad hominem do you have any comments on Perry’s video ‘Strong” which he has defended?

There is in American Conservative Christianity a great and false sense of persecution. In their eyes they are a hunted and hounded minority denied their freedoms as godless secularism forces abhorrent lifestyles upon them.
This is not true of course, but as American culture changes, and all cultures continually change, it less and less in line with the idealized and mythological WASP vision of American from 1950s, this has instilled them with a panic about the world they live in not unlike the panic found in fundamental Islam as modernity and what it has brought to their cultures.

In what delusional world does he live where he thinks kids can’t pray in school?? Why, why, WHY do people keep messing this up?!?!?!?! It is very simple – there may not be TEACHER-LED prayer in public school, because that implies a state religion!! SO STUPID!!!!!!! As for not openly celebrating Christmas, I see lights and decorations everywhere. People are going to the church of their choice and no one is holding a gun to their head and forcing them to stay home. WHERE DOES THIS MAN LIVE?!?!?!?!?!?!?
