Not the best of weekends

So this weekend had its ups and its downs. There was fun had at board and card gaming on Friday night. My friend Ray ran his D&D game on Saturday and though we had one player die it was a really fun game and a very exciting combat.

On the down side I have had a headache for more than 24 hours. That has made life less than fun.

Later in the week I will review Clash Of The Titan which I saw today.

Making good progress

So if I continue at my present pace I will reach the halfway point in the rough draft of Cawdor about April 15.. That’s tax day or the anniversary of the Titanic’s disaster depending on where your head is at I suppose.

I am really quite happy with the rate of progress and the ease by which the plot and the characters are unfolding. the six months of prep work has really paid off for this novel. I’m also finding more and more idea floating around in the background for the books that follow this one. Yeah, it looks like Cawdor will be followed by Exodus From Cawdor and Return To Cawdor.

Tomorrow I will post and explain how conservative sweetheart Michelle Malkin luvs Commies.

Not Much tonight

Been too busy playing with my latest toy. I got a barcode scanner — the very affordable CueCat — and now I can enter my DVD’s and Blu_ray in a database just by scanning the barcode. It’s very cool and I know that I will spend hours on Saturday entering movies.

I just noticed for the first time that I had lots of comments in my spam filter. I went though and not everything was spam. I’ve tried to approve the comments that looked legit but I might have missed some. If they were yours, I apologize. That is certainly no way to build a community.

Looks like Is John McCain A Vampire got some action. Maybe I should consider what other monsters or D&D monsters various politicians are.

I already know who the Gnome will be. LOL

A week of modest achievements

This week was not too bad. I managed to give an answer at work in a training class that made our General Manager happy. I got writing complete on all five days of the work week and I not entirely unhappy with the results, and I started invoking Rule 1.

i.e. I did about 30 min of light cardio this morning in our complex’s gym. Something I plan to do three times a week.

New Year’s Resolution

So here, quite publicly, is my New Year’s Resolutions for 2010.

I have not been putting in the hours of writing that I should have been, so the resolution is to reform my habit of writing every day, Monday through Thursday.

To achieve this, I am not allowing myself to play any game on my Xbox 360, Xbox, or PS3 on Monday through Thursday, unless I have written 1000 words that day.
